HOW TO TRANSLATE

A translation is not a word-for-word rendition of one language into another, it is rather the reproduction of a concept from one language to another. It involves much more than a konwledge of the languages involved. It also involves cultural, stylistic and technical elements. These are the chief steps to write a good translation of a text:

Read the text completely first understand general idea
What type of text is it? formal/informal; business/other
Identify the various parts of the text introduction, main concept, details, conclusion
Write the text in English

express concepts and ideas rather than give a literal translation of senteces

keep note of the commonly-used words and phrases for future reference
Check your translation through completely for: content: have you included everything?
clarity: is the main message clear?
correctness: punctuation and grammar?
cohesiveness: are the points linked clearly?
